Nirjuli to bangalore

Southern selection centre bangalore is a place that will remain etched in my memory for a very long time. That was here, i appeared for my SSB interviews. but the story in the back drop is nothing less than interesting.

I would start from the day we appaeared for our technical screening at JEC.The interviews were fine except for the motto of NCC, which i couldn't answer.

In the aftermath every bloody person in the campus expected that i would get a call letter for SSB.The time kept passing, lot of water has flown down . A nice day , me and ari even concluded that there would be no call letter for us. and two days letter, there it was.Alokojjwal was calling everybody to let know that he has been called for SSB. two days latter almost every deserving candidate has aletter in his hand.
I called up PD in college to know if i too have got my call letter. There, PD ranshacked my dreams by putting up in his monotoniic voice that ellicits so much of laughter always "Nahi! tera letter nahi aya hain". Everybody had only one question in mind, why? and i ahd only answer- "i was not deserving". As put by alokojjwal, people were more intrigued by me not getting a call letter than others getting it.

But as luck would have it, prantar's timely enquiry got me my call letter just a day in time.See the tryst in it,i had already decided that even if i get the call letter then, still i wouldn't be going. But someone there in the heaven was playing a trick with me.. i got the letter and bangalore was the place. god damn! this is the only place in india that i feel like calling mine and i was getting an oppurtunity to be there. Should I or shouldn't I was the question?
Destiny striked again and off was i, half hearted with no aspirations just ruing my decision to go to bangalore.
I had nothing to appear for SSB. No half pants no white shirts, no shoes, no socks..but calcutta was alucky place, it has got a place for all.
The shopkeeper was initially shocked seeing me. i assuased his fears by telling him that i have decided to study late and has just reached class 5. He was impressed, completely.. I am sure, once i left, he got "padhne ki koi umar nahi hoti" imprinted on his wall.
We had a great journey from calcutta to bangalore.. initially with no seats. But destiny as i said was kind again, we ended up having not 1, not 2 but 3 seats to sleep. With a girl in our compartment , ours was the centre of attraction. All 6 of us stucked in a side lower birth, seeking the chance to talk to that petite lady. but the honours finally lauding only viswambhar tiwari. whatever, we were proud of tiwari for his rustic charm which finally proved consolation to our egos. perverts we are..

Bangalore's morning was chilly and we have a day before reporting..when we were setting our feet down from the train we decided that we would study for the day.But bangalore's charm was tough to avoid. Malls, chicks and wat else.. The scale of rating that we had for rating girls has to be recalibrated to suit the standard of bangalore chicks..9 was the talk of the day. sometime for cuteness, others for attitude and at times for the length of skirts.

Next day we reported to Southern selection centre bangalore.
To, Team shrishti-2009
Shrishti as they say , is the encompassement of evrything in the world. That's where evrything originates and that's where evrything bites his destiny.
but to us , all of us in shrishti committee ,it would be a final rendezvous with our college.Let's put all the bloody hardwork to get this shrishti to culmination. Let's sign off in style.. so that all could once remember and say,"unme kuch baat thi"

NERIST as NIT?

L.O.C. speaks on issues

First of all its a nice feeling to be acknowledged as a body to speak for the cause of the institute. L.O.C. in one of her latest meetings talked about this plan of NIT, but we seem to realize that in the broader interest of the North East, with eight states NERIST in her present form is better as an institute dealing with technical studies, with 80 percent seats reserved for the region.

These are wonderful topics to be talked upon and we are keeping a close look on our surroundings.

L.O.C. is concept of personality development with fun, and for more information please visit:http://locnerist.blogspot.com

Another LOCian's view

Hi manish bhaiya and shashi! and all those who has contributed here!!

I had been going through these blogs for quite a bit of time, but wasn't an iota sure of the way to choose. granting NERISt a NIT status would in one respect or other surely fuel the growth of infrastructure and final product here.
THE reasons being:--
1) NIT being a status of repute would command aura and hence would attract faculties of stature and calibre.
2) lot of NIT's has seen R&D works in the form of public and private collaboration. Arunachal pradesh being a power house of hydel energy could pave way for a centre of excellence in this regard.
3) better recognition

regards
Rohit

Who's responsible?

I remember quite evidently, a article, that i wrote long time back. Why i say it here is because it would be something that has to dowith what i write today. Then, for the only time of my life, i acted as a male chauvinist. Talked, how it was women ,who has to be blamed for all the ills they had been facing. I was never, actually, able to publish that article because somewhere my conscience didn't agree.
Today when i am just back from bangalore and was evidently close to a place that was a center of major news last week.i mean, mangalore, where some so called saviours of hinduism actually barged in a pub and started doing something which was against the morals and ideals of human society.i feel, somehow this is not the best thing to happen.
I am even more irked, by the low level of reaction against this. This i say in relativity. This problem i feel has a potential of causing greater damage than terrorism ever could.

Why?

The basic of indian society which was largely hindu in nature was harmony and peace they advocated. While the world was proud of their war heroes, their conquerers, We were proud of ASHOK, Akbar and Gandhi. The point that i am trying to make is, that it took millions of lives, for Ashoka to realise the futility of violence. Akbar and Gandhi was relatively more intelligent. The major point common to  these three was their advocacy for fair means of judgement and violence as a tool to be used in extreme circumstances. The fact, that these three are our's greatest ambassadors is a sheer testimony to the fact that we not only appreciate but render non-violence integral to our culture. So, by not voicing our concern, we are in reality appreciating potential terror.

What Ram sena did that evening by claiming to maintain sancity of women, has actually stripped bare the very soul of hindu culture. Hinduism as many say is not a religion but is a way of life . In that case, The females, who were assaulted that evening was every bit hindu. Going to pubs, with friends  have become a way of chilling out in a stressful environmenet. This is quite analogical to the "Mehfils " of our mahals. Only, this is for commoners. And it's so important to be happy in life. In a way then, by going out to pubs for chilling out is actually a attempt to be happy. And this is how they want there way of life to be. and seeking happiness  is central to hinduism.
But what Ram sena did was not a way of life even in distant dreams. certainly, not in hinduism, where women are not only respected, they are worshipped. That means , ram sena guys gotta better learn a lil bit of hinduism from girls out there. I am quite sure, girls out there would be having soft drinks, but you sure can have some scotch.
So, let me ask them , why guys? why do you want to malice Ram's name. if you people are not finding proper names, i have good collection of it. Let me give you people an option..How about "shit sena"?
