lets bring back the old time LOC...

Hi guys, there is such less blogs now a days here...what happened to you guys?sab thande pargaye ho yaar!!! lets do one thing...lets bring back the old times...lets take up a topic and discuss about it....
Today's topic-Dowry....questions in my mind----Should we,the educated, job holder ,23-29 age group people should take or give/take dowry? Ya,in some society this is prevalent but this is a social evil. So should we try to change it or just go with the flow?
How can we change it? only answer is by refusing to marry if there is any dealing with dowry in any form..or is there some other way?
Who will refuse? the bride or the groom?or Who will refuse first?
Society should be changed...who will change it? somebody?
What if parents don't understand? what if relatives don't understand? ..lots of questions...
Lets try to answer....
looking forward to your entry guys.....
Please get up...

Hello Mr. Moderator(PD),

You are supposed to comment on it when you put on the first comment.
I remember the first time I was asked to put up something on this topic when I first faced stage. OMG!!!
Anyway, my solution is simple, don't have it yourself and don't follow it up from your Gen-onwards. No matter how hard you try, people will take it and spend it lavishly, they are not going to change. Sorry Paro.
You can't put common sense in guys who have no sense. We need lots of LOC'ians to change it, which is not possible.

Completely agree with Debi, but if it makes sense, why can't we start this ourselves.
The way we handle our lives today is very unique when compared to how much independence youth had let's say only two decades back. We are the future, and let us join hands to say no to this evil.

I am in. Are you?

par apna sudhar hoga kaise...education? i have seen educated people giving and taking money...i have seen several marriages happening around me where the groom's side negotiate on the cash they will take, on the model of the car they will have, jewelery..they bargain as if they are buying some commodity for their use.....relationships made on the basis of money is as if you are signing a contract...this goes on to show how much you respect woman...

i am with saurav.....are you?

i have a rather simple solution.. how about ending the concept of arrange marriages.. you fall in love.. you marry the same person.. no question of dowry.... what say :P

Its great to be a part of the movement.Though I have not been to a marriage involving dowry, but I am aware of the consequences of this social evil (by means of movies, serials, news, books). So, I am in.
