Life is strange !!

It was a busy afternoon, when i was reminded of my commitment towards this fun de organization by none other than Paro.Little did we know about what was coming towards us.The meeting failed to be acknowledged as an official meeting because of low attendence and was cut short by a phone call to Paro which asked her to reach home immediately. We were left gasping for air,as with all our inexperience we had absolutely no idea of how to react at such situations. Personally i was stunned at the strangeness of life which had been so testing for the poor soul.
Paro, a sweetheart, may you get all the strength in the world to face whatever situation you have to face.
For we all are always there for you.
God bless you.

An eventful fortnight for us...

Celebrated holi in full spirit, prepared for exams, GATE results lead to instant party on a weekend, two cakewalk type papers, OIL placements for trio, and some days are left for more surprises...
I am keeping my fingers crossed as L.O.C. meets on Friday morning for a stroll at Dikrong.
See you there...

TO MY LOVE..........

You have been my passion,my life. You inspired me. You made me believe in myself. Whenever i was down and out, you encouraged me. I forgot everything whenever i was with you. You gave me comfort whenever I was distressed. You have so much positively affected my personality, my outlook, how to strike out strategies at the spur of the moment, how to hold on to your senses in nerve-wrecking situation, to accept defeat gleefully. You helped me in channelizing my energy in the right direction.....thanks cricket for what you have been for me..

I’ll be playing my last cricket match in NERIST on the 8th of march but I know you’ll always be there whenever I’ll need you.......

BEING IN LOVE....???

Hello everyone...
This is my first own blog which i will publish... first of all i would like to give my heartfelt thanks to Saurav who requested my email id & sent me an invite.... THANKS A LOT SAURAV.... i no it may be just an invite but to some one whos not a memeber of LOC or Nerist... its an Honour...

Hmmm.... now coming back to the post... me writing this post as Sachin's post has irked me to write something for love, on love, of love..... Well, the question marks behind the topic is because BEING IN LOVE is always questionable.... First question is why we fall in love or to be mroe precise we fall in love... why is that there is one person in the crowd of billions of people which stands out... THE PERSON whose thought is the first thing to hit you in the morning & the last thought to leave in you in the night & then to reappear in your dreams...
Second question is why THE PERSON you love becomes the most important part of your life.... relations which have been with you for so long become redundant for you....why when that PERSON is with you, you desire nothing.... and when that PERSON is angry nothing matters to you except them.... why why why.... N number of questions....

People say often that "Its easy falling in love... but difficult falling out of love...". My view is contrary to this... In today's time you can find love at every nook and corner.. its east being tempted....relations are just made for the heck of it.... but to find THE PERSON is not easy.... Its not easy falling in love guys... one has to have the courage to accept that "YES IM IN LOVE N IM READY FOR IT" but guess everyone is not ready.... Its easy to say "I LOVE YOU" but its difficult to profess that "ILL B THERE 4 U"....

I was really touched to understand the way Sachin's thinks about Love... n believe me a guy accepting it is a big thing.... Sachin u said it right that "LOVE NEVER CONCLUDES"... If we really love someone.. trust them more than ourselves... respect them for what they are... indeed the love will never conclude... instead it will grow by leaps and bounds... I wish people who have found love cherish it always and are lucky to be with them forever..... For me i wish to see my love happy in any situation he is.... May God bestow him with all blessings, even mine to him.....
n may he succeed what he strives for.....

Au Revoir guys......

kabhi kabhi dil mein khayal aata hai................

have you ever questioned why we exist?why we have taken birth?what is the purpose of our life?so many whys and few becauses....
whenever i sit down to write something,i feel God,i feel good,i feel people around me,i talk to them, place myself in their position and then respond to my queries,doubts.......each and every person you meet is a character, life is about understanding those characters......i don't believe in judging people because then you don't have time to understand and love them....khush raho kushiyan failao........zindagi bahut hi chhhoootiii hai mere doost........doost banao dosti nibhao...

BEING IN LOVE IS FUN YAAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Life gives you so much, you can only be thankful to it…life is like a control system. it’s unstable when you don’t have friends’ feedback but the moment you incorporate friends in your loop you move towards stability. You start enjoying life. you feel as if nothing is unachievable..like life mein jo bhi hota hai acche ke liye hi hota hai….friends inspire you. they create such positive energy, vibrations around you which make you feel like the king of the world….friends are diodes which make you flow in the positive direction and blocks all the negative forces….friends make you realize your weaknesses…life is a marathon. friends tell you when to pick up your speed…people say and I believe that God made mother because He couldn’t take care of everyone…but then I do believe He made friends because mummy couldn’t be everywhere…I’ll always be indebted to life for they have given me friends…..friends with whom I can argue, laugh, quarrel, share my thoughts, see life from their perspective……thank you saurav, rai, bed, gokul, deby,pd,poly, meenu, nuuuuupur, paro, rohit,ad,harlamboos, basu, ari for being my inspiration, for making me believe in myself, for getting me out of those difficult times not by your words but by your mere presence…..God bless you all for making me so blessed…

So now lights, camera action………
This is sachin reporting …
14th feb….the valentine’s day….the day to love and be loved…
Loc had a special meeting to discuss about the problem of some of our friends not finding any dates!!!!!!!!We had a thorough discussion on the issue. it’s high time we find solutions else they turn gay……….

On a serious note, I got to say you all I’m not going to forget this day. I was not with my date on a lonely island. Neither I gave roses to her, nor I sank in her eyes…..i didn’t even talk to her…..but she was, is and will always be there…I could feel her….i could see her…I could, I could sense her vibrations…..this story ran parallel to the meeting we had had at the canteen….we had the pleasure company of ever-so-dynamic Ranendra sir and historically correct Sara ma’am….Novels, movies, history, dating, slum dog millionaire, shristi, convocation, nerist syllabus revision----we had everything on the floor to discuss….thoughts oozed out of everyone’s mind….ranendra sir enlightened us with his huge pool of knowledge and experience….Sara ma’am was always there with her clichés…….then we had tea and coffee to freshen up our nerves…..i wish this would have gone forever but then God disposes what you propose!!..it had to end…….

In short it was those three hours to cherish forever…the meeting finally concluded….
But then love never concludes….it goes on and on and on….till you live and may be even after that…..i hope I live to see my love live her life happily….i hope I see my love live her life happily even when I die……………

somebody else contributed to our blog!!!

Barsha went through our blog page! and decided to sent this article of hers that has content similar to one of ours.

Place of action – Mangalore Pub.

Action – showcase of utter brutality against women.

As rightly quoted in the bible – “A woman was neither born from the feet of the man nor from the head of the man, she was but born from the ribs of the man so as to render her equal against the man.” However, the recent incident which occurred at the Mangalore pub brings out the fact that a woman in India still doesn’t has the rights to exercise the freedom she owes as a human being.

The very much condemned act was carried out by a local group named “Sri Ram Sena” which invariably means “The Army of Lord Rama.” The head of the controversial group is Pramod Mutalik who says that its not acceptable for women to got to bars in India & what his men did was right. The world as they say is indeed full of irony. The group calls themselves army of Lord Rama. Lord Rama is the idol for the perfect son, brother, husband, father & a king. Lord Rama was the one who was a firm believer of the fact that violence is best avoided against any form of life. It was Lord Rama who offered his prayers to the sea god for 15 long days to show him & his army the path to Lanka. Only when his perseverance couldn’t take it longer he took his bow, but when the sea god appeared & asked for forgiveness it was but obvious granted to him by Lord Rama. Lord Rama knew his wife being pious as the Ganges waters in spite her being in a foreign land for time so long. But he being a responsible king asked her to leave the kingdom but he never did render any atrocities on her based on the rumours. These are just few of the attributes of Lord Rama. If we closely observe which one of the member has shown atleast one of these above mentioned attributes. Indeed ironical isn’t it as they are so called followers of Lord Rama.

Now coming to the point where they say that woman wearing western clothes is incorrect as they lead to unnecessary skin exposure. But as I guess they forgot that our national costume “Sari” is the one of the most sensual garments in the world as it exposes 8 wide inches of skin around the waist, also adding the exposure by the blouse of the sari. If we trace back our histories, our goddesses and the apsaras were the ones who had such provocative dressing. If they forget that the Kamasutra is the product of India. Or have they forgotten that the ladies & the belles of many villages & tribes wear skirts or costumes reaching just their knees. So aren’t all these should also bear their brunt or is it because it bears the Indian Culture Stamp, it is all but correct.

The most hot topic or the event which the sena is getting ready for is the Valentine’s Day. These people are much more excited than any one. Love is the most beautiful and pure thing as many of us believe. We believe that there is nothing in the world as strong as the power of love. St. Valentine’s death anniversary is the day the world celebrates as Valentine’s Day i.e. 14th February. St. Valentine was the one who believed that persons in love should be united and he continued doing his service regarding this. I, personally believe the concept of Valentine’s day is quite mislead. It’s a day to express the feeling of love to the person who matters the most to you. The question that often arises in my mind is that is love confined to the principle of what the world calls as “Lovers.” Isn’t the love b/w a parent-child, siblings, friends, relatives also love or is it just that an expressionw e need to show socially….???

Me and my granddad used to wish each other valentine every year. I still do even when hes not with me anymore.

Now a question to the Sena members would they have beaten me and my granddad mercilessly, pulled my hair, clothes & tainted my image in front of thousands of people & the media. Its true that valentine’s day has been commercialized but that ways which festival hasn’t been? No examples reqd here. We all know the answers.

If we now start talking about drinking women, they made a statement “its incorrect for a women to drink in bars.” So, if we take a different view of this statement it can mean that a women should not drink I bars or pubs but can drink somewhere else. The Sena members are themselves not sure what is the actual purpose they are vouching for. Fine they may make a change in their statement mentioning that a woman shouldn’t drink at all. but can they stop all women in this 100 billion population drinking. They may go to a pub or two but can they go to every house and stop it. Have they forgotten that in India in many places, every major festival involves drinks which are made locally & is consumed by every male & female in the place esp during weddings. Why don’t they stop that too, by beatin everyone possible. Need to question the government that the Fundamental right no1 which is “RIGHT TO EQUALITY” something just to adorn the pages of the Constitutional Book. Sena members call themselves the picture of righteousness against the consortium of pubgoing, loose & forward women. But what about the pub going, loose & forward men. For them are they correct??? Should they not be beating down people who drink like monsters and create scenes, abuse women. But, I guess they are too busy too taint women than to see what else is wrong. It’s a free country and we have the full rights to do what is correct. We the women of today maybe drinking, maybe forward, flirtatious but we do know to stay in the limits coz if we know to have fun, we also know how to shoulder responsibilities. They need to understand that if there is a Priyanka Chopra, Kareena Kapoor likes, then there are also likes of Sonia Gandhi who not being the PM exercises the decisions made by our honourable PM.

Nirjuli to bangalore

Southern selection centre bangalore is a place that will remain etched in my memory for a very long time. That was here, i appeared for my SSB interviews. but the story in the back drop is nothing less than interesting.

I would start from the day we appaeared for our technical screening at JEC.The interviews were fine except for the motto of NCC, which i couldn't answer.

In the aftermath every bloody person in the campus expected that i would get a call letter for SSB.The time kept passing, lot of water has flown down . A nice day , me and ari even concluded that there would be no call letter for us. and two days letter, there it was.Alokojjwal was calling everybody to let know that he has been called for SSB. two days latter almost every deserving candidate has aletter in his hand.
I called up PD in college to know if i too have got my call letter. There, PD ranshacked my dreams by putting up in his monotoniic voice that ellicits so much of laughter always "Nahi! tera letter nahi aya hain". Everybody had only one question in mind, why? and i ahd only answer- "i was not deserving". As put by alokojjwal, people were more intrigued by me not getting a call letter than others getting it.

But as luck would have it, prantar's timely enquiry got me my call letter just a day in time.See the tryst in it,i had already decided that even if i get the call letter then, still i wouldn't be going. But someone there in the heaven was playing a trick with me.. i got the letter and bangalore was the place. god damn! this is the only place in india that i feel like calling mine and i was getting an oppurtunity to be there. Should I or shouldn't I was the question?
Destiny striked again and off was i, half hearted with no aspirations just ruing my decision to go to bangalore.
I had nothing to appear for SSB. No half pants no white shirts, no shoes, no socks..but calcutta was alucky place, it has got a place for all.
The shopkeeper was initially shocked seeing me. i assuased his fears by telling him that i have decided to study late and has just reached class 5. He was impressed, completely.. I am sure, once i left, he got "padhne ki koi umar nahi hoti" imprinted on his wall.
We had a great journey from calcutta to bangalore.. initially with no seats. But destiny as i said was kind again, we ended up having not 1, not 2 but 3 seats to sleep. With a girl in our compartment , ours was the centre of attraction. All 6 of us stucked in a side lower birth, seeking the chance to talk to that petite lady. but the honours finally lauding only viswambhar tiwari. whatever, we were proud of tiwari for his rustic charm which finally proved consolation to our egos. perverts we are..

Bangalore's morning was chilly and we have a day before reporting..when we were setting our feet down from the train we decided that we would study for the day.But bangalore's charm was tough to avoid. Malls, chicks and wat else.. The scale of rating that we had for rating girls has to be recalibrated to suit the standard of bangalore chicks..9 was the talk of the day. sometime for cuteness, others for attitude and at times for the length of skirts.

Next day we reported to Southern selection centre bangalore.
To, Team shrishti-2009
Shrishti as they say , is the encompassement of evrything in the world. That's where evrything originates and that's where evrything bites his destiny.
but to us , all of us in shrishti committee ,it would be a final rendezvous with our college.Let's put all the bloody hardwork to get this shrishti to culmination. Let's sign off in style.. so that all could once remember and say,"unme kuch baat thi"

Rohit

NERIST as NIT?

L.O.C. speaks on issues

First of all its a nice feeling to be acknowledged as a body to speak for the cause of the institute. L.O.C. in one of her latest meetings talked about this plan of NIT, but we seem to realize that in the broader interest of the North East, with eight states NERIST in her present form is better as an institute dealing with technical studies, with 80 percent seats reserved for the region.

These are wonderful topics to be talked upon and we are keeping a close look on our surroundings.

L.O.C. is concept of personality development with fun, and for more information please visit:http://locnerist.blogspot.com

With regards,
Saurav

Another LOCian's view

Hi manish bhaiya and shashi! and all those who has contributed here!!

I had been going through these blogs for quite a bit of time, but wasn't an iota sure of the way to choose. granting NERISt a NIT status would in one respect or other surely fuel the growth of infrastructure and final product here.
THE reasons being:--
1) NIT being a status of repute would command aura and hence would attract faculties of stature and calibre.
2) lot of NIT's has seen R&D works in the form of public and private collaboration. Arunachal pradesh being a power house of hydel energy could pave way for a centre of excellence in this regard.
3) better recognition

regards
Rohit

Who's responsible?

I remember quite evidently, a article, that i wrote long time back. Why i say it here is because it would be something that has to dowith what i write today. Then, for the only time of my life, i acted as a male chauvinist. Talked, how it was women ,who has to be blamed for all the ills they had been facing. I was never, actually, able to publish that article because somewhere my conscience didn't agree.
Today when i am just back from bangalore and was evidently close to a place that was a center of major news last week.i mean, mangalore, where some so called saviours of hinduism actually barged in a pub and started doing something which was against the morals and ideals of human society.i feel, somehow this is not the best thing to happen.
I am even more irked, by the low level of reaction against this. This i say in relativity. This problem i feel has a potential of causing greater damage than terrorism ever could.

Why?

The basic of indian society which was largely hindu in nature was harmony and peace they advocated. While the world was proud of their war heroes, their conquerers, We were proud of ASHOK, Akbar and Gandhi. The point that i am trying to make is, that it took millions of lives, for Ashoka to realise the futility of violence. Akbar and Gandhi was relatively more intelligent. The major point common to  these three was their advocacy for fair means of judgement and violence as a tool to be used in extreme circumstances. The fact, that these three are our's greatest ambassadors is a sheer testimony to the fact that we not only appreciate but render non-violence integral to our culture. So, by not voicing our concern, we are in reality appreciating potential terror.

What Ram sena did that evening by claiming to maintain sancity of women, has actually stripped bare the very soul of hindu culture. Hinduism as many say is not a religion but is a way of life . In that case, The females, who were assaulted that evening was every bit hindu. Going to pubs, with friends  have become a way of chilling out in a stressful environmenet. This is quite analogical to the "Mehfils " of our mahals. Only, this is for commoners. And it's so important to be happy in life. In a way then, by going out to pubs for chilling out is actually a attempt to be happy. And this is how they want there way of life to be. and seeking happiness  is central to hinduism.
But what Ram sena did was not a way of life even in distant dreams. certainly, not in hinduism, where women are not only respected, they are worshipped. That means , ram sena guys gotta better learn a lil bit of hinduism from girls out there. I am quite sure, girls out there would be having soft drinks, but you sure can have some scotch.
So, let me ask them , why guys? why do you want to malice Ram's name. if you people are not finding proper names, i have good collection of it. Let me give you people an option..How about "shit sena"?

2 months and 19 days......

2 months and 19 days and counting……..I never thought I’ll kiss my pen again, open my eyes, feel the wind, swing my thoughts back to those ‘WORDS’…the same words that encourages my spirits to a whole new world and cast down suddenly.
It’s a mental stimulation, an impulse of nothingness, the feeling of negligence and the consistent bore-ness that stings my veins and estranges me from my ‘WORDS’…..and I sprang into my unsolicited back-door deep inside me, and I defined a nuisance of the very WORDS that somewhat defines me as well…the WORDS being………..“LOC”.

Well, it’s not a literary advisory, or my usual..opinion intervention…I would rather call it a penitent statement of the intensity of those ‘sly’ words used and felt somehow, which otherwise stands just an adjective….’NONSENSE’.
Anyway, the literature will be back to place within weeks and I propose a cohesive response and contribution, a ‘HEIL TOGETHER’.

[For those who understood nothing of the above said, catch up my last blog and read the above again….or there’s another option…skip it and get going!!!]

Clash between students & Registrar NERIST.REVIEW 2008

25,26 September 2008: This is the biggest clash between NERIST students and administration in the history of NERIST. NERIST is a deemed university situated in foothill of eastern Himalayas in Nirjuli , Arunachal Pradesh India.
Why SUN had called this strike ??
This strike was called for the non fulfillment of 27 demands submitted to the director in-charge of Nerist, M. Hussain, repeatedly over the past month. The “immediate removal” of the registrar topped the list of demands.
Why registrar ??
Institute registrar Ashok Singh because he was illegally appointed to this post, some of the allegation are
1. He expires the age criteria while joining the institute as registrar.
2. The committee constitute for the selection of registrar by institute has rejected his application, but the Director of NERIST, Kalyan Kumar then constitute a single man committee and appoint him.
3. He had admitted his own son in NERIST in MBA programs without prior documents/qualifications.
4. Launching frequent FIR against students.
5. Rs 60,000(appro) fraud case still pending in ISM, Dhanbad
6. Beating a local paper seller boy in his house.
7. And many more..
Then we had a series of meeting with authorities of NERIST on these topic and we finally submitted an ultimatum for his removal.
On 25th September 2008, after the expiry of this ultimatum we the Students Union of NERIST decided to call an indefinite strike. We closed the main gate , stopped the movements of pedestrians , stopped the working of offices including bank , post office. All the students were supplied with banners and play cards and asked to standing near directors’ office shouting slogans. The strike was also supported by NERIST Arunachal Employee Welfare Association (NAEWA), NERIST Technical Staff Association (NTSA). Their members are also stands near Directors’ Office shouting slogan.
Then the EAC, Papum pare District came talk to us. He said that he came here to check the situation and ask us to maintain law and order.
After sometime we were called for meeting in Directors’ Conference Hall by Dean(Student Affairs) where we got a shocking news that the present acting Director Mr. Hussain has resigned and a good news that a team has been send to Itanagar to meet Chairman Board of NERIST (BOM) to find an solution to this problem. The day then just went on attending press conferences and all that .
At around 4pm we got letter from authority stating that Mr. Joram Begi (Director of Higher and Technical Education, Government of Arunachal Pradesh) is appointed as new acting director of NERIST by Chairman BOM and he is coming tonight to sworn in as Director.
At 5pm on repeated requests from all corners of NERIST , we finally decided to open the main gate. At night we got a letter from new Director of NERIST Mr. Joram Begi, calling all SUN Executive members for meeting tomorrow at 10 am.
Then come 26th September 2008, the day of biggest clash. In the morning at 5 am we again locked the main gate. Again students were supplied with banners and play cards and asked to standing near directors’ office shouting slogans. But this time the population was thin, most of the students left home last night in the fear of violence. The local newspapers were full of NERIST strikes and national news person started heading toward NERIST. The atmosphere is very tense . The clock turns to 10am and we headed towards conference hall.
The Director welcome all of us and got our introduction, then the president and GS of SUN described whole scene and ask him for early fulfillment of these demands. The director asked us to call off the strike and go back to classes and he promised us to solve the problem as soon as possible. But SUN had already decided to go for infinite strike till the fulfillments of its demands. The Director then went a series of meeting with the authorities and other groups regarding these matter.
Then around 4 pm the Director call Registrar Mr. Ashok Singh to his office for enquire, He came in his official vehicle. As soon as he come down from his vehicle and moved toward Directors office, the SUN member ceased his official vehicle. After the meeting got over he walk toward his home without looking on his vehicle. At that time SUN president also follows him.
At around 6pm we got a call from president SUN from NERIST health unit. When we reached there we saw that he was lying on bed, when we enquired he said while following him he reached his house , he was called by registrar to his home and they had a long argument regarding some files and after some time he and his sons started beating him by iron rods, later he was admitted to this medical and an FIR was filed against Registrar.
At that time almost all the NAPSA students reaches the hospital and all become angry over Registrar for this incident, we then decided for immediate arrest of registrar, then we called all the students from hostels to Registrar house. Within no time all students march towards Registrar house, it was a huge crowd. Some police personal were already presents there, the students then started pelting stones in Registrar house, demanding his immediate arrest. The police then ask us not pelt stones and they promises to do their course of actions, the students then give 5 minutes ultimatum to police to arrest him.
After the expiry of this 5 min, the students again started pelting stones in Registrar house and some students tried to enter the Registrar house, finally some of the students were successful to enter the house, these students started destroying whatever they see in front of them.
