I don't remember the last time i wrote a blog.

At the moment,i am not sure tilll when i will write a blog.but for now let's get on..

Month's back we made a tryst with ourselves that we would be a open book for each other, case study was a brilliant idea, and ofcourse as exopected' it was mine.and here's i , opening to you the biggest mystery that you all had...."ROHIT RAI".
Firstly, starting with the case study thing.
Hi nupur! i know it's always nice to be praised that way but frankly, calling me caring is the biggest mistake you made and there could be no one better than you to know this. and if you still have problems figuring out, look back sometime.Next, i was always damn care except for once in life, which i still consider till date my biggest mistake. And yes, i am not a nice human being, infact, i am shit.
hi Paro! I wd try talking slowly to you next time or may be we could scrap talking on phone altogether.
pd! your views had always been valuable. and same appplied here. i am not sure if you really learnt anything from me, but dude if there would be couple of people i wd remember after NERIST, ur's name is already figured there.
basu! there wasn't much u said, so couldn't reply much.
bed! love you dude. See dude! i dn't seem damn care to you because i do care for you and there's not a iota of doubt about that. The day i would give a damn to you, i would n't even becalled human. I do care for my friends. and rest, i wd say latter..

TIME FOR CHANGE, MAKE WAY FOR L.O.C.

NERIST, in the present scenario is undergoing a lots of changes. Both in terms of condition of students in general and in terms of reputition of the institute as a whole.

But then, we at L.O.C. can see the larger picture, the picture that depicts that what ha existed in the system, is not there to be forever. All we need to take correct decisions at correct times... Not going into details about the matter, I would like to take this opportunity to wish best of luck to all my friends for future course.

In any case, We are here to make full use of resources, STUDY ABOVE ALL, and then Learn basic rules of Survival....

FIRST EVER BOWL OUT AT NERIST

Forget about the last 20 minutes of the match, I mean the bowl out, for a moment. For 50 overs, two equally matched teams scrapped all they can, taking the inclement and irritating outfield in their stride, batting with gusto, bowling with plenty of zeal and firepower, and even fielding with kind of competence generally not associated with teams of NERIST. It was easily the best match of the tournament, and just the kind of match to showcase the cricket of NERIST to outer world and that small totals can be close contest too.
The only downer to a fantastic afternoon was the last 20 minutes. The bowl out is a fool proof way of ensuring a winner and a loser- and if that’s the soul purpose, it works well, BUT FOR THE SAKE OF CRICKET, was there any need of a winner on that day? Oh GOD, NO!!
But since it was the finals, it seems all logical (at least theoretically) that at the end of the day, we have to have a winner from the two contesting teams. Alas! Whoever came out with the idea of bowl out in cricket probably did not realized that it’s the beauty of this game that it was always decided by playing and not by gambling.
We saw two teams, one riding on wave of performance and experience while the other had something to prove. We saw the title clash between two equally spirited teams; and you will agree, the winner was none but CRICKET. Heartiest congratulations to the team members of both the teams, organizers, all those who were involved in this whole event, for putting up a brilliant show, which was needed to keep GOOD CRICKET alive in NERIST.

inspiring words though few r going 2 follow

When you walk through a storm
Hold your head up high
And don't be afraid of the dark
At the end of a storm
Is a golden sky
And the sweet silver song of a lark
Walk on through the wind
Walk on through the rain
Though your dreams be tossed and blown
Walk on, walk on
With hope in your heart
And you'll never walk alone
You'll never walk alone...

yet not trying to give their opinion

Visit to Itafort as a difference creating adventurous event, had we succeeded in coming close to the motive:Coming to those LOCians, who have something inside them that need to be shaken for committing towards the cause and say something in favor or against the two bolders.Talking about myself, it lies far somewhere in me that helps me to at least try and get into it.Trying to do innovative in the sense of filling up the gap between the parties, we have move ahead and can show the couchy potatoes that there are some guys living here only who were not born yesterday and can move the world in the right direction.

something important.....

Sensex gains 294 points, bank shares surge

MUMBAI: The stock markets remained buoyant after a really long week-end, with the benchmark Sensex posting a gain of nearly 294 points on Monday to settle the day at above 15000 level, riding on a surge in banking stocks.
The 30-share Sensex on the Bombay Stock Exchange regained the 15000 level to end at 15289.40, up by 294.57 points from its last Wednesday’s closing level. The index is crossing this crucial level for the first time since March 17 when it fell below this level on heavy selling triggered by global cues.
In volatile trade, the key index moved in a range of 15351.31 and 15056.09 points.
The 50-issue Nifty of the National Stock Exchange also firmed up by 35.90 points to end at 4609.85 from its previous close.
Meanwhile, Asian markets gave mixed bag of signs. While the key indices in Taiwan, Singapore and South Korea were up by 0.50 per cent to 3.99 per cent, China’s Shanghai Composite index was down by 4.49 per cent and Japan’s Nikkei was lower by 0.02 per cent.
On BSE, despite a rise in its barometer, the market breadth turned negative as 2149 counters ended with losses against only 535 losses.
Brokers said volatility increased on the bourses ahead of the expiry of March 2008 derivative contracts on March 27.
The surge in Sensex was aided mainly by the bankex which shot up by 3.32 per cent. HDFC soared by 7.73 per cent, the highest among the index-related stocks.
ICICI Bank firmed up by 4.98 per cent. The other prominent gainers were Hind Unilever, HDFC Bank and Wipro. Among the losers, Tata Steel, which was down by over 7 per cent, led the pack. Maruti, JP Associates, DLF and REL lost in the range of 1-6 per cent.
The trading volume dropped sharply to Rs. 4,682.75 crore from the last weekend’s level of Rs. 5,796.91 crore. RIL was the most active share with the highest turnover of Rs. 201.99 crore. — PTI

sensex.......?

The last meeting ended with a great hue and cry which was not expected from me? Everybody was trying to clear his doubts relating sensex and its queries. Rohit started the discussion as expected but owing to large scale interrupts (in the form of questions) arising in the middle from both boys and gals, he was upset. What I do believe is that sensex being a separate course of economics can not be studied up to its penultimate limit. Better we should learn about the basic things we encounter in our daily life. Shares, vvi in this field were cleared to a large extent in this meeting. How is sensex calculated? being very important was also covered. Now the most important is what are the factors which affect sensex which I suppose is far needed rather than going into depth of whole topic. Last time I heard serial attacks on various trains in Mumbai created a huge setback in the value of sensex.these concepts are far important.
lets see what we are going to learn in future.

Afterall, All the Business of Business is Business

" .... October is one of the particularly dangerous months to speculate in stocks. The others are July, January, September, April, November, May, March, June December, August and February .... " Mark Twain

10th meeting of LOC
, and wheels have started rolling... I can say this, when I saw bunch of 15 really keen on understanding what SENSEX was, how does rising and falling of index on BSE or NASDAQ affects a common man, and about Stock Exchanges, Shares, Liquidity...

God save us, we are becoming professionals. YES, WE ARE MOVING AHEAD

Impeccable Rohit Rai, started off in the style he is well known for, talking about SENSEX, trying to layout the whole picture of what actually FINANCE is? He was encountered by questions, all sorts of, very basic ones, and he handled them with ease and grace। Then suddenly we realized that Business is not things of the other world. We got the concept of SHARES, how Stock Exchanges works, about the vision of Late. Dhirubhai Ambani, percentages, ownerships, Bill Gates, Ambani Duos॥

Time to come up for more questions, friends !!

Celebrating 100 blogs !!

Three Cheers to those who spared time to write and share their views over a broader and wider arena, to those who meant business with L.O.C. and knew that it meant more than just being confined in the few hours of blunt and often rigorous chit chats over some decent numbers of cups of Tea.

Its time to move on and I realized important lessons of life in past days, I have only myself to thank, that I am here... Strong as ever and slightly improved person and of course L.O.C.

heres wishing all of you a very very Happy Holi, Happy Ester.

Why the Debate?

How dare you question the unquestionable?

Who and What is L.O.C.?

With time, things have drastically changed. And with very few who realised the brighter side of what we were actually trying to do, its our time to address the rest about the answers to above questions. Some may argue that how is the soul of this unconventional and 'unauthorised' organization, got to do with this debate. And with with these pretexts, let us first congratulate these small bunch of students who withstood all odds and made this initialisation a reality. Congratulations to all the spectators including none other than Respected Director Sir, Deans and teachers whose presence gave us immence adreline to gracefully go through with the program and ever so dear friends who finally got convinced that here is a debate which is going to matter to them. Thank you one and all for the overwhelming support.

Now to the basic questions which somehow remained unanswered down the line. Let me put it straight way, the debate in its new form was an idea of L.O.C., but the topic as such had nothing to do with the fundamentals on which this 'tea-a-meet' is sailing.

I always found "Timeline" as the best way to arrange data and let me take you to a small time travel.

Not very long ago, when a trio came up with the idea of triggering a change, when proposed to all, 15 accepted to be a part of this Kinda Fun Club. Starting from the discussion about what actually we were upto with our 15 captain commanded ship, the journey had already begun. in a very little time the ice really started to melt and with all members well versed with each other; we started thinking out of box. Our motto was revolving around having fun mixed with learning the basics of personality development.

Spending valuable time in the meetings we realised that each of us had wonderful and unique talents in the some field or the other and that each of us had a lot to offer to each other in particular and the society in general. through the sips of tea we accepted greetings, welcomed comments/ criticism and strictly abstained from annoying anyone.

Thinking out of box meant getting one's attention beyond what is already being said and done. It meant taking up issues which are only complained about even if it can be resolved with minimum of fuss.

Solving one such issue resulted in present new form of debate. Or dare we say, issues were many, the only thing lacking was Communication. And since no one was putting the plug in the socket, we did!!

These are troubled times and we, the students are still stuck with some basic ideologies. Being students, we complainabout least being done to bridge the gap between the teachers and students. We complain about absence of enough guidelines for us to grow and develop our personality in the right direction. We at L.O.C. realised that students who are not satisfied or convinced by the "pro-de-tective" attitude of our immediate gaurdians; need some space out of the learning room, to talk to them.

We at L.O.C. realised that sparking a change must begin with ourselves(means with students). We believed that getting support from the likes of the very best in the business, most experienced; we can initiate this bridging and we are grateful to be backed up by them.

Let me state clearly, the topic was decided after consulting the honorable participants of the debate, and we at L.O.C. had nothing to do with the content. Throughout the whole event, our vision was concentrated on parting the gap, and this reflects as in the inaugural speech of the debate, L.O.C. emphasised that teachers are above god, beyond any question, any limit, any doubt whatsoever. We firmly believe in this and we don't see any reason why not to.

And we proud that they lent their best hand upon us and took the pain of spreading light among htose deprived. With their support and overjoyed for the tremendous turnout, specially \students, we provided oppurtunity to clear the doubts and misconceptions in their fast developing minds.

Answering the first question, why the debate, we would say, " Ask yourself!" Was it just a debate? For those who were present there; must have noted the intensity, the flow, the captivity{and was there no difference in the whole approach?} of this unforgettable presentation?
